Limfjorden Rundt 2018
One of our most exciting trips this season, Excelsior is joining up to 65 other ships in this annual festival of traditional ships.
Taking place in the Limfjord which is one of Denmark’s biggest fjord, linking the Baltic with the North Sea.
NOTE:- As of 10th August, flights to Aalborg from the UK going for as little as £26.
The week will involve some sail training and then leap straight in to 5 days of racing in the day time and socialising with the crews in the evening in a different port each night. The full program can be found here.

Monday 10 September – Løgstør
The participating ships and crews will meet for the wooden ship festival in Løgstør with a range of live music and exciting maritime activities. The Limfjorden Museum will be open and the Løgstør marching band will play at the quay.
We sail towards Thisted (it’s a town). In Thisted, the Sailing Club invites us for an evening meal, as well as the award ceremony for the prizes of the day.
Wednesday 12 September – Thisted – Struer
We sail west around Mors through Vildsund (the Wild Sound – it’s a bit of water), ending in (the town) Struer where Northwestern Jutland’s Fjord Culture association and Marilyn Anne’s Friends will provide dinner and entertainment .
Thursday 13 September Struer – Nykøbing Mors, Thursday
Today we sail through the narrow and beautiful Salling Sound to Nykøbing Mors where there will be a party with dancing.
Friday 14 September Nykøbing Mors – Fur, Friday
We sail towards “FUR”, the pearl of the Limfjord. (It’s an island) Here the locals will serve us dinner in the party tent by the harbour, after which there’ll be a musical event.
Saturday 15 September Fur – Skive, Saturday
We sail to Skive, the so-called “harbour town of central Jutland”. Lots of stalls and music will welcome us as we arrive in the harbour. Final prize giving ceremony. The city will then host the final party in the South Harbour with music by the Muleskinners.
THE EVENT OF THE SEASON
Fantastic sight seeing opportunities and great for ship lovers alike. A high adrenaline opportunity for Excelsior sailing in close quarters to many other ships.

After the racing you will disembark at Skive which has great connections to the airports of Denmark.
Embark:- Løgstør, Denmark – 12pm (TBC), Monday 10th September 2018.
Disembark:- Skive, Denmark- 12pm, Sunday 16th September 2018. (NOTE:- UK flights currently £22 leaving Billund on the evening of 16th to Stansted BARGAIN! as of 10th August)
£570 per person full board With BURSARY FUNDING for 18 – 25’s Reducing the cost to £450. Take part in the previous voyage from Lowestoft sailing from 3rd to 16th for just £900 pp.

Suitable for over 18’s this trip is well placed to make a fantastic adventure at sea for all groups and individuals alike. Arriving in style on such a historic ship is very rewarding. whilst being able to hunker down in her warm saloon makes the perfect recuperation from a busy work life when the weather up on deck turns wild.
