LOWESTOFT to BRUGES (2023)
A full on sailing adventure to (and from) Brugges in Belgium. A trip for young and young at heart seafarese of all experience levels. You will depart Lowestoft and sail west over the North Sea crossing the shipping lanes that carry cargo from all over the world to all over Europe. You will see bulk carriers and fishing boats and you will join the crew on night watch, at the tiller stearing Excelsior safely across to Europe. In Bruges you will disembark and have a little well earned shore leave with the crew and be back for the return journey, where once again you will have the opportunity to learn about our fabulous boat and crew.
Bruges, the capital of West Flanders in northwest Belgium, is distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets and medieval buildings. Its port, Zeebrugge, is an important center for fishing and European trade. In the city center’s Burg square, the 14th-century Stadhuis (City Hall) has an ornate carved ceiling. Nearby, Markt square features a 13th-century belfry with a 47-bell carillon and 83m tower with panoramic views. - Bruges is one of my favourite cities with its medieval buildings and its cafe bars around an ancient market square.
