The Excelsior Trust is closely monitoring and following advice from both UK government and professional bodies (such as ASTO and RYA).
As the advice changes we will be responding appropriately and we would like to take this opportunity to remind both group travellers and individuals that we have a flexible approach to our voyages. Sailing plans by their nature have to change to take account of prevailing weather conditions and we can take the same flexibility in responding to both government travel advice and our customers requirements. In particular we are able to respond to any request or requirement for voyages to remain in UK territorial waters.
For our crew the ship is also there home and they are keeping their household safe along with all of us. This does fortunately mean that regular maintenance work can continue so we are remaining on track to complete our winter refit. However at the moment the avoidance of unnecessary travel and social distancing requirements combined with restrictions on international travel mean that we will not be starting our sailing season on the 10th April as planned. We will be continuously reviewing this decision in the light of the public health situation but as of now we currently anticipate that voyages up to the 6th of June may be affected.
Those of you with bookings that are likely to be affected have been contacteded direct by email.
